Earlier this year I attempted to start my business...only got a few customers, but was decent. I'm going to try to start it up again, and I will make music for almost anything (unless it's explicit) you need, like music for a video, a game, an animation, etc. Here's some details.
2. Then, I charge a one time fee of $20 for one song and I won't rest until you're happy with it! I feel this is more affordable than what most people charge, so I figure it's a fair price.
3. Try to find a song that's similar, or give me some ideas of the kind of style/genre you want.
4. Throughout development, I'll send you samples of what I have, then you tell me what changes to make or to keep it as it is, making it longer or etc.
5. I do up to 8 minutes for the song, but extra will cost you a little more depending on how long, that's negotiable.
6. If you need a lot of songs (such as for a soundtrack), we can negotiate on a fair price. I don't want to keep charging $20 for all of that, that wouldn't be fair!
From time to time, I'll keep making free music to post, but not as often, and stay posted, soon I'm coming out with a new metal/rock album. I'm excited Dark City (the single) got frontpaged! I'm currently talking to someone to get vocals on that track. I may release it instrumental, as some say it would be better, but we'll see!
PS: The A.I.M. (Art-Inspired Music Audio Contest) is going great! However, if you want to enter the contest, PLEASE read it through, people have been not linking to artwork as of late on the forum thread, and ask all questions in the discussion thread.
Originally, I didn't add this part to this post, but I have to now because I've seen a SHOCKING number of creative folks (animators/artists) who don't listen to constructive criticism and think "I'm successful, I know what I'm doing, so I don't have to listen to you" because they're egotistical.
The advice? Get real, and keep an open mind. I've seen some GREAT animators on here turn this route whom used to make better animations with good writing, but they became lazy and either don't focus on writing and make unoriginal inspired toons (yeah you know which ones i mean, I don't have to name them) or they don't listen to critical reviews and brush them off with a pat on the head and say "I'm the best, so I won't listen to you. Time to make another toon with annoying voices and douchebaggary".
I could name a list of people but that would be insulting and I'm not stooping to that level of fowl play. But it just pisses me off to see these famous artists waste their talent and become robotic hacks with a huge ego. Some of them being frontpaged with these annoying toons...they used to be so talented, really, and that's what urks me.
If you're a REAL artist, you ALWAYS have an open mind for improvement, and think more about where you're going with your creative work. I miss the old days on newgrounds when animation and art required well thought out input, and SOME of the animations are, but most of the ones i've been seeing here and there by certain artists, are well animated yes, but purely unoriginal bullshit, some with annoying voices (on purpose) and cliches (like memes).
TL;DR : It's about time some certain artists got their heads out of their asses and actually respected the constructive criticism. Just because you're really good at animating, doesn't make an excuse to be a douchebag. Keep your roots and remember who you are. It dissapoints me to see that some really talented animators became so egotistical they feel that they're gods with closed ears.
I'm done ranting, sorry to sound harsh, but I'm not the only one who has felt this way I know, I just haven't seen many post about it, so thought I would. They won't listen or care, but this will be realized. I love Newgrounds for the community it is and the talented artists, but I really hope nobody else goes that route, even though they probably will.
