Within this post contains BIG news about what I will be doing at Pico Day, and big things/changes I have planned for the year of 2016. It could make people sad, or it could make them interested. You'll see that at the bottom of this post that I have not announced anywhere yet.
I realize this post is long, so if you want to see what this covers I'll save you time, but there IS news I have NOT announced anywhere yet.
In this post we cover the topics of:
Pico Day Interviews
Art Inspired Music Contest
Piercing Lazer EP Record
Graphic Novel Project
Unannounced 2016 Plans (Twitch, Helping Artists, No More Free Music)
Pico Day Interviews
I'm going to be rooming with @StrawberryClock and @FGIJonC at the hotel we're staying at, and they agreed to do an interview on my podcast show, "Talking Real". I've been messing with various ideas for the show, will definitely be a longer episode. Overtime throughout this month, I will be releasing other interviews I get at Pico Day as well, such as @TomFulp and @SamGreen. Though I hope I can also grab @JohnnyUtah and @Oney to talk about the game with Tom as well, but it's okay if not.
Art-Inspired Music Contest (May 22nd)
Everything is prepared, but if you have ANY games you want to donate for prizes, I have 14 games donated so far, and if we get 6 more, not only will the top 3 winners get games, but EVERY runner-up will too! :D Check the calendar on the front page for details regarding the contest and prizes if you're interested in entering or helping with prizes.
Piercing Lazer EP Record (May 30th)
When I get back from Pico Day, I'm going to start recording vocals for the Piercing Lazer EP, "The Other Side EP". I've got all the instrumentals done, and you've seen the preview I uploaded here to NG already. I will also eventually be releasing a song that got cut from the record, as a freebie.
I really need support for this record, because I still have no job, no money, and I release a lot of free content, but I devoted a lot of time and effort to this record. But the good news is the record will only be $5 and I'll share it when it's up in the online stores http://realfaction.newgrounds.com/news/post/959416
Another secret piece of news, if the Piercing Lazer EP sells well, I will be able to afford to continue working on 2 other EP records that are a 2 part tribute to one of my favorite artists. It's not covers, but rather songs inspired by them. So if you guys want to see more Piercing Lazer music for sale, I already started working on most of the songs alongside this record, so if you want to see them on Itunes and other stores, enough sales will make it affordable for me to do! I would release them later this year. :)
Graphic Novel Project
I also really need support for this graphic novel I'm working on when I get the Kickstarter page up soon, maybe within a couple of months, we'll see. I'm having 4 professional artists do concept art for it. I really believe this project will do well with the support it needs. More details here: http://realfaction.newgrounds.com/news/post/959725
Unannounced 2016 Plans
Remember earlier when I talked about controversial news? Well, I'll announce that first, and what I'll be doing in my spare time because of it.
Firstly, I'm slowing down with music. No, I'm definitely not quitting. But, remember earlier when I talked about the fact I can't find a job and release a lot of free music? I can't really afford to do that anymore. For almost 10 years I have released free music here on Newgrounds, but I have been forced into a corner of my life where my parents can no longer support me next year, and when I asked people to buy my cheap albums, most don't.
I will still interact here on Newgrounds, I will still be making music, but if I want to survive in this economy, I have no choice but to stay strictly with releases, as much as I hate to say it. The GOOD news is though, my next record I mentioned earlier will only be $5, and surely you guys can afford that. So if you want to see me keep making music, I will need as much support as I can get, since times are getting tougher as I still am looking for work.
It's also why I'm doing the fundraising project for the graphic novel, I will make money that way as well as be able to pay a team of hard-working artists and live my dream as a writer, you guys can make the difference in my life. Also, I will be streaming on Twitch, since YouTube has screwed everyone to where we can't really make much money anymore, so I will be streaming games I have on Twitch with a schedule to earn money that way. If you guys want to talk to me live, I'll announce a schedule so follow my twitter to see when I'm live: http://www.twitter.com/realfaction
I also started a thread in the Art Forum, which doesn't seem to be getting much attention now, but I still really hope it helps artists, because I'm constantly looking for artists to scout in the Art Portal and to feature them in this "spotlight thread" in hopes it gets them more fans, because I love their work, and they are either new, or been around and just don't have many fans. I've been trying to think of more ways to help the community, so yeah.
Here it is: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1408782
This year is going to be a big change in my life, whether good or bad, but with your support, not only can I succeed in what I love to do and make a living off it, but I won't struggle financially anymore and I'll be able to deliver more awesome content to you guys! It's a scary thought to think what will happen if I don't get the support I need, but I'm doing my best to stay positive and going full steam with these projects.
My ultimate dream is to become a sucessful author of books, but mostly graphic novels and comic books, and to impact people with my stories. I would still make music on the side though. My life is taking a rough turn, but if you guys help me out, it'll be awesome for all of us. I really want to keep delivering stuff to you guys, and I want to stay alive. Help me do that? :) I want to devote time more to the Newgrounds community any way I can, I'll definitely be around.
Well that's all for now, talk to you all very soon. Expect some podcasts, and my upcoming record, in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your support,
