RealFaction's News

Put out a new song, so before I talk about how I need commissions right now and the discount summer sale i'm holding, go check it out.  It's a commission I made for a client, so if you're interested in getting a commission from me, it's a good time to!  And, this song will give you an idea of the quality of my work, but I can make many genres!

Need Commissions (25% Discount Summer Sale!)

So I've never done a sale for my business before, boy do I feel like a dummy, I should do them more often.  My prices for a song commission are down by 25% from June 2nd to June 16th!  Grab it while you can!  :)  If you want a custom song by me, and want more info, go to http://www.flareheartstudio.com/catalog .

(my job cut my hours again and my supervisors have been terrible to everyone, so people like me are leaving but i'm looking for a new job first)

NEW COMEDY SERIES: Billy Joe & Company

So, sometimes i play 7 Days to Die on a server with friends, it's a lot of fun.  Been doing it for some months now, but we end up having laughs every time, so I figured it would be fun to record our funny convos.  Only there's a twist, my voice acting is involved, playing a character I made up named BIlly Joe, improvising in-character (with some scripted scenes but mostly not) but they are themselves.  Enjoy, I'll be making more episodes.

PS: I shaved my head, I'm bald and loving it.

Updates With Me

So, I decided to put myself first for once and get my priorities straight, take some time to do what's needed, and cut out anything that isn't as important, because I was overwhelming myself with things.  I barely see my friends, I don't game anymore hardly, I haven't even done much with music hardly at all lately.  Something's gotta change.

So, I decided to pass the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch to @ChronoNomad, he'll do a good job with it.  It's way too much for me to even judge it or compete in it right now.  So, I'm taking a little break.  I'm also going to start doing commissions again, as I have a couple already I need to work on as soon as I'm not sick anymore, as this past week has been rough, and I have been sick and haven't slept well, it's really bad.  Also, pollens been really bad this year so allergies suck.

Also, I'll be focusing more on Venturescape, my audio play project involving a lot of voice actors.  I've been in production for a while.  My goal is to get more commissions to get more money since I don't have as many hours at work now, I have a few days off a week.  I'll have more time for that, friends, gaming, and commissions.  That's all I'll focus on, and getting my health better.  I'm going to try anxiety meds, kinda nervous.

Basically, I'm used to stressing myself out with waayyy too much, so I'm pulling back to focus on the stuff I really need to, and ocassionally working on my own personal music, which I haven't done in a while.  I'm taking a break from that for a bit until my health gets better from this winding down process, to fix my health issues.  Then, I'll be back to working on more of my own music this year.  Also, taking more time to meditate, and enjoy stuff in general like movies, tv shows, and games as I mentioned, just normal stuff, and with friends.  I need that.

Well that's about it,  gonna be like this for a while.  However, in a month or so, I plan on releasing a teaser trailer for Venturescape with the theme song I made for it.  It's my first Chillstep song.  Been thinking about doing more Chillstep in the future, something I love to listen to, and that I thought I'd take a crack at.

P.S.: I'll probably record a podcast soon this week about all of this.  Not sure when I'll return to my nerdy topic format, but for now it'll be back to personal topics.  Laters!

m0lecular / Help My Friend Get Out Of Her Abusive Home

I recently released a song I made for an album organized by The Underground Collective, which is an open group of coming and going musicians, an album dedicated to the wonderful dem0lecule (currently @agitat0r, and @mactamendax) that's also going to charity to help a friend save his girlfriend from her abusive home (she is like a daughter to me, I would adopt her if I could).

Dem0lecule has had many names over the years, and has inspired a lot of the musicians here on newgrounds, such as myself, and has contributed prizes to contests with his generosity. We love you, man. <3 Thanks for inspiring and giving.

The album is on BandCamp, and any donations go to my friend Jacob, who is struggling in life, wanting to dedicate it to getting his girlfriend out of her abusive home, she is like a daughter to me.

It would mean the world to me if you even donated $1, anything helps them.

Art-Inspired Music Contest Judging Week / Fan Favorite Thread

Hey guys, so this week the judges and I are judging the top 3 winners and the runner-ups.  I've been super busy with work and not sleeping well, so Tuesday and Wednesday I will catch up on the submissions I haven't gotten to look at and review yet.  In the meantime, here's the yearly Fan Favorite Voting Thread: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1422831

P.S.: Even if you didn't make the deadline, PLEASE still submit your entries to the Submission Thread, we would all love to see your work even if it doesn't make the contest: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1421358

Thanks to @Hikari, @EDM364, an @LexaHergon for judging this year!  Also, shoutout to the very missed @Phyrnna, the "mother" of this contest (I being the "father", we started this thing together with our ideas).  Much love to you Phy! <3

Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch Major News

There is good news and bad news about the NGADM.  The good news is, yes it's still happening and it's all organized, it starts this month, May 28th, the Auditions anyway before the first round.  I organized the team, and @TaintedLogic helped organize the schedule, and the community was great with suggestions throughout last year and this year.  Here's the organization thread: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1419355

Now, the bad news.  I realize in my current life, I have too much going on with my job, my Venturescape project, just life in general.  I need a break.  With that said, I cannot run it this year, though I am happy to have organized the team.  I am passing the torch to the wonderful @ChronoNomad to be the one in charge, with potentially @TaintedLogic and @Hikari second-in-command, we'll see.  I'll be watching the tournament from afar, I can't judge either, sadly to say, or participate.

Good luck in AIM and the NGADM everyone!  I'll be watching.  In the meantime, I've also been in production with Venturescape.  More updates on that in the soon future.  I'd like to start up my podcast series again, once AIM is over and I have more time to myself.

A.I.M./Health

2017-05-05 16:30:35 by RealFaction

The past few days I've been kind of silent due to not sleeping well and feeling sick, I'm getting better, but I've just needed rest.  I haven't been able to get to the overwhelming amount of new A.I.M. submissions yet, but hopefully soon in the next couple of days or so.  I usually get a lot done on a good day.

Thanks to all who are participating, life's been hard for me as of late.  My health is still an issue every now and then and sometimes I have to call off a day at work...so I'm a bit worried I'll lose my job because of it.  I'm lucky I haven't already.  Honestly, I want a work from home job but I don't see any hope of that, but if anyone has suggestions, let me know.  Thanks.

Good luck everyone, thanks for submitting to the contest!

Venturescape Updates / Accounts

2017-04-25 05:08:33 by RealFaction
Updated

Great news, I've got all but 1 role filled for Venturescape (which may change soon!) Season 1!  I made a couple of social media accounts if you want to follow those.  I'm eventually going to make a YouTube channel and Newgrounds page for it as well, but for now, Twitter and Facebook.  Go follow them!  :)  I'm hoping in the next month or two I'll be able to give a teaser trailer to the series.

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Venturescape-1286851431350049/

Twitter: https://twitter.com/VenturescapeS1

It's still a bit early to be making these, but I figured why not.  Though, you'll get the same updates here.  It's mostly for anyone who doesn't use newgrounds to be directed to here.

It all started when I was 18, in highschool, writing this story for what would be 7 years and counting.  Originally, it was going to be a book, then a comic book, and now it is finally an audio drama series.  I am more passionate about this project than even my music, and I am making music for this series, voice acting small parts, editing it, casting people for the roles, and producing it.  As soon as I get the final role filled, I'm going to soon announce the full cast!  Thanks for all the support guys!  Loved the auditions!

Seriously, look at this beautiful artwork of my characters by @Lampabot !

Voice Actors Needed! (Updated)

2017-04-15 01:36:50 by RealFaction
Updated

Hi there!  I've been casting more voice actors for my audio drama series, Venturescape Season 1!  I've casted many talented folks here from newgrounds, as well as from Funimation (Marissa Lenti), voice actors in Freedom Planet (Aimee Smith and P. M. Seymour), and Brizzyvoices! This series is written, directed, and edited by me and I'm doing some of the original music for the series as well as a few other great NG musicians!

The series is currently in production, but if I get these parts filled soon enough, I want to provide a teaser trailer in the Summer or before, I'm hoping.  My goal is to release the series later this year.  So what parts do I need?  Let's see!  If you wish to try out for these parts, message me and I'll give you some test lines!

Venturescape Episodes 3-8 Casting

Female Main Roles Needed

Noel Rae (Role Taken): 16 years of age, should sound shy, but sweet.  Is from Orlando, Florida in the story, she will have an American accent.  She loves to write stories, and has goes through a lot of trauma, hence why she is shy and scared.  She's one of the main characters and appears throughout the series,

Female Side Roles Needed

Krista Jean:  30-years old, spunky, a tomboy, got some edge to her personality.  She's a little wacky and a thrill-seeker, she's the type that would love to go skydiving.  As far as her voice, I want her to sound distinct, something maybe with a little rasp or gravel in her voice like she smoked a lot.  I'm open for interpretation of this role though.  She almost is a main character with how many lines she has in the series.  (Think of Revy from Black Lagoon type of voice if possible)

Female News Reporter (Role Taken): Sounds professional like a female news anchor would.  Should sound anywhere from mid 20's to older in range, I'm open with this.

Male Main Roles Needed

Jacob Leach (Role Taken):  22 years old, Rose's older brother.  They moved to America from Brighton, England, so he has an English accent.  I'm open for interpretation with this role.  I may do the role, but I'd like to see if I can find someone good for him.  He's one of the main characters of the series.   Though, he's mostly serious, a little TOO serious.

Male Side Roles Needed (the kids could be played by a female though as well)

Male News Anchor (Role Taken):  Professional sounding like you would hear on the news, anywhere from mid 20's to older.

Ryan (Role Taken):  A male in his mid 30's (sound-wise) who is caring and responsible.  Think of how your highschool teacher would act like.  He helps one of the main characters in a major way.

Daniel (Role Taken):  A little 8-year old boy (who could be played by a male or female) who feels insecure about himself, and doesn't like people too much, until Rose warms up to him.

Playground Bully (name isn't said): The boy who picks on Daniel from time to time, around 10-years old.  I might play this role if I can't find anyone for him.

PA System Voice/Roots Research Lab Employee (Role Taken): During a big event (no spoilers here), a voice over the PA system announces stuff.  No specific voice required here, I'm open for any interpretation, so long as it sounds good.  It involves minor shouting (not like at the top of your lungs shouting, but more like raised volume in voice).

If anyone currently on the team would like to try out for these roles or spread the word to anyone you know who you think would do the roles justice, feel free to link them here!  Thanks!  Here's the official reveal of the Season 1 artwork by the talented @Lampabot !  I added the title.

Need Voice Actors for Series

2017-04-10 18:54:54 by RealFaction
Updated

Time for the next casting call for my audio drama series, Venturescape Season 1!  I've casted many talented folks here from newgrounds, as well as from Funimation, voice actors in Freedom Planet, and I may be getting another well-known voice actress here soon!

The series is currently in production, but if I get these parts filled soon enough, I want to provide a teaser trailer in the near future.  My goal is to release the series later this year.  So what parts do I need?  Let's see!

Venturescape Episodes 3-9 Casting

Female Side Roles Needed

Female News Reporter: Sounds professional like a female news anchor would.  Should sound anywhere from mid 20's to older in range, I'm open with this.

Ashley (Role Taken): A 17-year old highschool student/bully that picks on Noel eventually.  It's not entirely obvious at first, Noel thinks she's trying to be a friend so it's kind of hidden at first, but shows a little.  She has a rude, stuck-up demenor, spoiled brat type who thinks she owns the place and thinks she's better than everyone.  I'm open for interpretation, but good material to study is Regina George from that Mean Girls movie in terms of attitude.

From Sourpuss to Sweeeet Music

2017-04-01 03:54:49 by RealFaction
Updated

I want to make a positive fun post telling you guys what I'm pumping out here soon, though I stand by my points in the last post, I hope I didn't come off as mean or hateful, just have to put my foot down on certain issues.

So, what have I been up to?

Health Update

This will give you an idea of how things will roll along with everything, because it all depends how much better I get.  Well, I've been on a stronger acid reflux medication, but also it's caused by Anxiety Disorder, which I've been fighting for 6 years.  I've been meditating more, taking some herbs (no, not marijeeewahna, stuff like rosemary on my food), just stressing less about my health.

With that said, unfortunately I'm STILL having some burning pain since it's still acting up, but it's slowly getting better.  I haven't been sleeping too well because of it though, but I'm managing.  Still better than I was.  I've been working on stuff so at last I'm good enough to do that again.

Music on the Way

I released a new song called "Breathe" as you can see in my latest audio submissions.  I also recorded myself singing it, check it.

I'm also working on more Kid Project beats and lyrics, that's been sorta underwraps.  I DO have the album cover though which I painted myself in Sai.  Still some while to go, but this year I want to release the first record, later in the year.

So what's next?  Well, VERY SOON, like we're talking THIS MONTH POSSIBLY SOON (yey), Piercing Lazer is coming out with a NEW track, that isn't traditional Piercing Lazer, but will give you a taste of the album coming next year, as I've also for a while been in the works on a new Piercing Lazer record.  That will be the next song you'll see from me, possibly.

There's other stuff, but gotta wait a bit longer before I can really talk about that "stuff".  But it's big :x

The Future of my "Talking Real" Podcast Series

I'm sort of at an impass as to where to take my podcast series.  I haven't had much to talk about.  I was considering following up to my last episode, because people replied to a comment I made on a Zelda BOTW walkthrough video, amazing theories that make sense that I wanted to share, plus a friend of mine being a guest on the show who's a HUGE Zelda fan and knows a LOT on the lore to give what I'd call "professional insight".

Besides that, I might talk about my theory as to what Halo 6 will be about, and if 343 will botch it as bad as they did with Halo 4 and 5.  Other than that, I'm not sure where to take my series, but I'd certainly love to have guests on in the future for season 3, talking about a topic of their choosing, shootin' the shit, ya know.

Finally, the Rock Has....oh, uh, I mean....Finally, Venturescape!

I'm near close to getting enough content to release a teaser trailer of Venturescape, my upcoming audio drama which I've been writing for 7 years (originally as a book, more revision than length, but still a good length).  My goal is to introduce the first 4 episodes every week for a month, and if people want more, I'm going to set up an IndieGoGo page for it, or whatever is best for funding, to help it along.

The artwork for it is nearly complete, which is being done by the wonderfully talented @Lampabot, check out his awesome work!  He works hard, and has a Patreon, you should go support him!

I have voice actors from Freedom Planet and Funimation involved in the project, whom I'm a big fan of, so it's really exciting to have them on board!  But yeah, teaser trailer SHOULD be out within a month or so, we'll see how smoothly things go.  Good things take time, and I've been polishing this baby with original music from me and others, sound effects, and directing these amazing voice actors who do the roles great justice.

This is the closest thing to my heart besides music, and I'm really attached to writing and these characters, and this story.  I really hope it does well.  I'll also be voicing a few small roles.

Well, that's all for now (says the one who typed a lot of friggin' stuff on this post).  See you all soon!  Let me know what you think about my ideas for my podcast series, or if you have any suggestions!
